02 — Why this programme

Built for institutional work.

Most AI training is generic. This one is shaped around the specific workflows of an SEC-regulated Nigerian investment firm — and built to leave participants with practical, deployable habits, not theoretical understanding.

Workflow-first

Every session is built around a real SCM Capital workflow — not a generic case study.

Hands-on

Live demonstrations on real tools. Bring your laptop. Leave with prompts that work.

Governance-aware

Designed for a regulated environment. SEC posture, client confidentiality, model risk built in.

African context

Calibrated to Nigerian markets and African financial services — not Silicon Valley defaults.

03 — Agenda

The three days,
session by session.

A detailed look at every session. Click any day to expand.

  • 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Arrival & Networking Doors open. Informal peer conversations before the day begins.
  • 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Opening & AI Demystified Welcome from SCM Capital leadership and Voranex Africa, led by Lanre. Frame the three-day journey and align the institution around a shared AI vocabulary. What AI actually is (and isn’t): distinguishing classical ML, deep learning, and Generative AI.
  • 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Prompt Engineering for Financial Professionals & Workflow Mapping Breakout The CRISP framework (Context, Role, Instruction, Specificity, Parameters). Attendees practice writing prompts on their own laptops. Participants will leave with proven prompt templates, a workflow map for their department, and a personalised AI adoption roadmap.
  • 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM
Lunch & Peer Conversations Networking lunch in the breakout area.
  • 12:30 PM – 1:45 PM
Workflow Mapping for AI Adoption A practical session focused on identifying and documenting SCM Capital’s key business processes, uncovering bottlenecks, and pinpointing opportunities for AI and automation. Participants will learn how to map workflows across departments, prioritise high-impact use cases, and create a roadmap for AI implementation that aligns with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • 1:45 PM – 3:00 PM
AI for Everyday Office Workflows — Docs, Spreadsheets & Slides Hands-on demonstrations of ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity applied to the tools SCM Capital uses every day: drafting in Docs and Word, working with Excel and Sheets, building Slides and PowerPoint decks. Real workflows — market commentary drafting, research summarisation, client email refinement, and meeting preparation.
  • 9:00 AM – 9:45 AM
Arrival & Networking Doors open. Informal peer conversations before the day begins.
  • 9:45 AM – 10:30 AM
General Workflow Design Session Translating Day 1 foundations into structured AI-augmented workflows. Using equity research, macro briefings, and earnings transcript analysis as worked examples, the group learns a repeatable design pattern: identify the task → choose the tool → design the prompt → set the human checkpoint.
  • 10:30 AM – 11:15 AM
AI for Client-Facing Functions Drafting client memos, RM talking points, and proposals. The “human-in-the-loop” discipline: where the analyst adds value the AI cannot.
  • 11:15 AM – 11:45 AM
Marketing Use Case — AI for Brand & Content How marketing teams apply AI across content drafting, social copy, campaign briefs, audience segmentation, and visual collateral. Practical workflows for SCM Capital marketing.
  • 11:45 AM – 12:15 PM
Team-by-Team Workflow Implementation Teams split by function — research, client-facing, marketing, operations — and apply the workflow design pattern to their own real work, building on the morning’s sessions.
  • 12:15 PM – 12:45 PM
    Lunch Networking lunch.
  • 12:45 PM – 1:45 PM
AI for Operations, Compliance & Risk — and Internal Tool Build Sprint Document review, regulatory scanning, KYC summarisation, and risk-flag triage. Where to deploy AI safely inside an SEC-regulated environment. Teams then enter a guided build sprint to prototype a lightweight internal SaaS tool that solves one real ops or compliance problem they identified.
  • 1:45 PM – 3:00 PM
Building Your Personal AI Workflow & Day 2 Wrap Translate the two days into a concrete personal action plan: which tools you’ll use for which tasks, what you’ll commit to changing in your week-to-week work, and how you’ll measure the lift. Day 2 assessment unlocks at the end of this session.
  • 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Arrival & Networking Breakfast Doors open. Coffee, light breakfast, and informal conversations before the leadership briefing begins.
  • 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Global AI Landscape How AI is reshaping financial services worldwide. Where SCM Capital sits relative to global peers and across the continent. Strategic implications for the next 18 months.
  • 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Strategic AI Adoption — A Framework for SCM Capital Building a 12-month AI roadmap. Identifying highest-leverage use cases, build vs. buy decisions, and where to anchor early wins.
  • 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM
Lunch & Executive Dialogue Leadership-only working lunch.
  • 12:30 PM – 1:45 PM
Governance, Risk & Responsible AI Data residency, client confidentiality, SEC posture, model risk, and the ethics of AI in a fiduciary business. What good governance looks like in a Nigerian regulatory context.
  • 1:45 PM – 3:00 PM
Talent, Culture & Leadership Commitments Reskilling priorities, the role of the AI champion, and how to evolve performance management around AI-augmented work. Closes with named leadership commitments. Day 3 assessment unlocks at the end of this session.
